Sometimes not doing anything might be the best thing to do. It seems that something should be done to stop the negativity but by addressing it in the heat of the moment can increase the negativity to a higher level. We had an employee that was very upset because his duties were changing. He did not want to listen so we allowed him to be alone for a few minutes till he was ready to talk. After speaking with him he realized that the changes were going to benefit him. The employee apologized for being so aggressive.
